ADAM WAKEFIELD
ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Full Name: Adam Jacob Wakefield
Aliases/Nicknames: Other than “Madam Adam” in middle school, nothing.
Age: 19
Group: Citizen
Play-by: Matt Bush
Personality:
Adam is exceptionally ordinary. He tries not to make a big deal out of himself and will only really speak up when he has to. He's relatively effeminate and very, very awkward. Often, when confronted with an issue, Adam will either back down or use logic to work around it. He's also rather easily offended, often feeling hurt by the slightest of insults. He does a good job not showing it until someone really offends him. Then it's not uncommon for him to begin crying or yelling (or both). Adam is an awful conversationalist and he can't keep up with small talk. He does occasionally make inappropriate sex jokes to contribute to the beginning of the uncomfortable silences that he will often cause.
However, he is by no means naive, despite his childish, girlish ways. Adam doesn't have an easy time learning to trust others. Despite this, he will listen when someone else has a problem and he tries to give advice to the best of his abilities. He'll be a friend to anyone who will be a friend to him, though most will avoid friendship with him to his habit of throwing awkward statements into normal conversation. He's smart in an academic sense (although not in a social sense). After causing an awkward silence, Adam will usually fill his sentences with "um"s and "uh"s in order to think of a sentence that could undo what he had just said.
History:
Adam was born on January 6th, 2017 to Lucas and Samantha Wakefield in Denver, Colorado. He learned to speak and read at an early age. All through elementary school, however, he spent time with his imaginary friends Gary and Cassie rather than making friends with his real peers. His mother worried constantly that he would gain a social disorder because it seemed as though none of the other children liked him. The truth was that none of the other children knew him very well, seeing as he spent all of his time with his imagination. By the time he was in middle school, everyone honestly didn't like him. He had stopped believing in Gary and Cassie, though he still thought he could make real friends any time he wanted to.
Of course, Adam began treating real people as though they liked him like his imaginary friends did. Needless to say, people immediately repelled themselves away from him when they saw him coming because they knew he would only ruin their time. Adam then began turning into a typical teenage boy, only with even more awkward sex jokes. He watched too much television and read too many books and spent too much time on the internet. It was as though he was living alone in his own personal bubble.
Adam always got a fast grip on all of the subjects in school, but the problem was that he felt as though he didn't need to do the homework if he understood it so well. He was incredibly bright but somehow still failing. He always managed to work his way up to a barely passing grade with the few assignments he did, as well as the tests and finals. He managed to struggle through his senior year and graduate. He moved to Wyoming months after graduation to go to some ghetto community college.
However, by that time, the widespread flu had finally knocked everyone out. He was lucky to have survived and immediately when he found out there was a town with lots of living people, he drove to it in his junky little car. He had survived, but he didn't know how long his life would last yet.
